WHERE TO FIND THINGS TO SELL

You can find items nearly anywhere to sell for a profit online. You

can profit by selling an item for more than you paid for it, or by

selling an unwanted items. Also selling information is rapidly being a

hot item on nearly all the auctions. Don't forget all these things you

can sell via the auctions you can sell on your own website as well.

Our website brings in as much and even more income then all our

auctions do, so please don't over look this very important element in

making yourself rich.

Keep in mind that some auctions charge you a small percentage of the

final selling price. Unless you have a tax number you will have to pay

your states and possibly counties tax on local purchases. When trying

to figure out how much it will cost you to sell an items you can

usually figure these will cost around 10% of the final price. So when

setting your prices please remember that in order for you to make a

profit you will need to be able to absorb about 10% as the cost of

doing business.

You can find many items to sell in your home. Extra items, gifts you

don't want or need anymore sometimes make great items to sell. Hobby

items you no longer need or use make great items as well. Toys that

one plays with anymore. In most cases on items that can be shipped

fairly inexpensively, eBay or any online auction is a better route to

go than a rummage sale! Don't over look the attic and basement as

goodies are always hiding in these areas as well.

While visiting relatives or friends the conversation often turns to

something around the house that the owner wants to discard at all

costs. Sometimes for a low price (or free) you can get some worthwhile

merchandise! If it's free take it and decide later whether or not you

are just going to throw it out or sell it online. People collect

everything and people buy everything. If any money or trades are

involved you have to decide if its worth the gamble or not.

While out shopping you can run across items in stores that can make you

a profit. Staples, OfficeMax, some department stores, bookstores,

these all have areas in the store where you'll find super cheap

software or other items the managers can't seem to sell. I've recently

walked into an OfficeMax and found 100's of software titles the store

was clearing out for $2.00 each. Most of these titles brought $10-$15

on various auction sites.

Each year there is always one super hot toy. In 1998, it was Furbie's,

one year it was Tickle Me Elmo, many years ago it was the Rubiks Cube.

It happens every year. If you're watching CNN and you hear what "this

years hot toy" will be, buy a few and hold them towards Christmas.

Yard sales and rummage sales are great sources. However most of these

are on weekends, so if you don't mind doing some work during the

weekends this is for you. Other peoples junk can become profit for

you. The purpose of a yard sale for the most part is to make room in

ones house and get rid of as much junk as possible. You can often get

great deals here, remember the person isn't trying to make big money,

they are just trying to get rid of their old stuff so they can buy new

stuff. Many times by offering a small lump sum for an entire yard of

goods will get you some great times which will turn out to be very

profitable!

Collectable conventions are great, however you need to know about the

type of item you are dealing with. If you're into collection baseball

cards or items such as this, you can make great profit in this area.

You can always turn your collection of widgets into big bucks.

Then there is gift and novelty distributors. These distributors will

distribute gifts, glasswares, collectables, kitchen items, pet

supplies, As Seen On TV items, and other goods to people just like you,

who want to buy low and sell high online. Some distributors will

require you to buy in high quantities to get the items at wholesale

prices. There are a few distributors which don't have minimum buying

requirements. One such major distributor who doesn't have minimum

orders is found online at http://www.licensed4fun.com. With over 3500 products,

you'll find lots of interesting items which can make you huge profits

on eBay, Amazon, or any of the other tons of auctions sites springing

up each week.

You ever see those ads selling Microsoft Office for $20-$30? Here's

the list of sources for buying Microsoft for as little as $17.00 a

copy.

Sources For Buying MS Office for $17.00!

Have you ever wondered how people are selling MS Office for super low

prices on eBayT? Here's the secret. They buy them in bulk!!!

Micro Edge Software (Ask for Fahad) offers MS Office for $17.00 each if

you buy 100 at a time. Micro Edge Software offers other software

packages at discounted prices as well. To contact Micro Edge Software

their email address is microedge2@aol.com

Wong C. Ping sells Office 97 for $18.50 each (100 piece order minimum).

He offers free shipping. You can contact Wong at defense91@yahoo.com

Leto is another bulk seller of MS Office 97. Their price is $16.95

The last I heard they offer COD shipping. Minimum order is 100 items.

They can be contacted at unkcarlos@email.com

Mail order is another good source of items to sell on eBay and the

others. If you find a product mail order that you think you can buy in

quantities of 10 or 100 and sell them for $1, $5, or $10 more per item

on eBay quickly, do it! If you can get $2.00 more than you paid for

it, you will make a $200.00 profit if you could sell 100 items. And

believe me, that's easy to do on eBay. There are many quality items

that are available only from mail order catalogs. www.licensed4fun.com is a

great mail order catalog source. If you have found a quality item that

you can buy at a decent price, it is probably marketable on eBay.

Check your local newspapers every day under antiques, forsale,

computers etc. You never know what you will find. Call as soon as you

see an ad. Sellers in the newspaper are usually motivated to sell.

But take into consideration what they paid for the ad and that you may

have to bid against others. Its also possible to use the newspapers

to sell items you have bought on eBay. I've bought many computer

systems on eBay cheap, usually older outdated computers which would

still run Windows 95 but not a state-of-the-art machine. Then I've

taken that computer and listed in the newspaper classifieds for $100 -

$200 more than I paid for it. Then advertise it as OBO (or best

offer). If you advertise it for $200 more than you bought it for,

you'll still get offers for $50-150 more than you paid for it. It's a

quick way to make a $50-$150 profit, and most people buying computers

via newspaper classifieds are really looking for a state-of-the-art

machine, but something that will just get them on the net and do their

checkbook. As long as you advertise it for less then what they see ads

for new computers they think they got a great deal! When creating your

classified ad, use bold words and ALL CAP words to make your ad stand

out. It's worth it.

Believe it or not you can find things on eBay that you may be able to

sell for more! Here are two different ways that this can happen.

Simply put you get the item cheap. Or lower than you think you can

sell it for. This can occur several ways. The auction closes at a

time that no one else is paying attention, or no other potential bidder

is aware of the value of an item, maybe you can either visually see in

the image that the item is better than described or is actually

something else, you take a chance on something with no picture or from

a new seller.

The other way is to buy a lot with more than one in it and split it

apart and put the individual lots right back on eBay. I have found

that very few bidders think of this. Let's say that a seller is

selling a group of 5000 old post cards. You win the bid for $500. You

could sell them individually and keep yourself busy all year long. Or

you could also consider breaking them into groups of holiday postcards,

ethnic postcards, photo postcards, etc. and selling them in lots that

way. By breaking them into smaller lots you will make them more

affordable to more people and thus almost sell the entire group for

more then the $500 you paid for the lot. Sometimes this doesn't work,

but it almost always does. You just need to understand what you are

buying.

Online you can go to any search engine and enter wholesale or

distributor and you'll find tons of places which will sell at wholesale

prices. www.licensed4fun.com is one of the better ones. The newsgroups and

small individual websites are a good way to find collectibles to sell

on eBay. There are Usenet newsgroups on virtually anything

collectible. People often sell things very cheap there, but there is

the added risk of sending your money to someone and never hearing from

them again. You can find less popular website on a particular

collectible interests by going to your favorite search engine, getting

a listing of sites, and skip the first several hundred sites and go to

the ones way at the end.

Yourself is a great source of sellable items. Yes, you may have

something to offer which people will be willing to pay for. If you are

good at sewing, painting, woodworking, cooking, crafting, etc. you can

make things to sell on eBay. Or you can create an informational item

about speeding tickets, web building or anything you know something

about and run it through the appropriate category. There are people

interested in learning how to do everything! And they are willing to

pay to find out how!

Either general listings or listings oriented to the time of year, the

season or the next holiday always generate interest. If you have a web

site for your skill or product this is a great way to promote it. If

you have a site for cooking recipes, whether it's a free site or

commercial, a listing on eBay concerning a group of your 100 Christmas

Cookie recipes, will make people aware of it (if you include a link)

and will get you new customers whether anyone buys your Cookie info or

not.

Selling on Commission. All of you probably know someone or a local

antique store, etc. that offer products or a service that others around

the country will never find out about. Maybe you can work out a deal

to sell on commission. Even if you only get 10% of the sale, it will

help.
